The
idea to form the Association Ibarra-kaldu appeared in September of 1.966
during a match of Jai Alai in the pediment of the school of the Padres Paules
from among a squad of youths of the neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, that
thought up the possibility to form a Cultural Group with diverse sections,
such as Movies Forum, Painting, Mountaineering, Weightlifting, Basque Dances
or conservatory.
In a first meeting they decided that the best to spread and to make public its idea, was to begin with the group of Dances and the conservatory. With a great dose of enthusiasm, these first members, they are put in contact with two theirs friends of the Group of Dances Laguntasuna, of the neighbourhood of San Vicente. Thus they begin the trials in the rear part of the Asylum Foundation Miranda. There they are prepared during a year approximately.
|
The first official action of the group of dances was August 6, 1967 in Retuerto, being the second the following week in Matiko. The presentation in the neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, took place in October of that same year, during the festivals. The circumstance is given that due to the short term of the repertoire that was possessed still, was again the Group Laguntasuna the one that collaborated with us to complete the approximate hour and a half that is normal in these cases. |
|
In
December of 1969 is given forms legal to the Group forming the Assembly
Foundational, of the one that leaves chosen the first board of directors.
In this first Assembly the Statutes are approved also that will govern
the operation of the Group, being all it registered in the Civil Government of
Biscay and being assigned to the Law of Associations in force.
During these first years the trials they are arranged and representations of dances with the conditioning of the low of the Church of Santa Teresa. This work supposed a great effort, for all the associates and supporters, that reducing hours to their leisure after the work in factories and offices, they were overturned in withdrawing the land that covered to almost 2 meters in which today are the localities. The official inauguration of the localities was done the day October 15, 1969. This first work corresponds to what nowadays is the Ambigú of the Group since thought that was a good way to meet and to attract to the youth of the Neighbourhood. The works happened in several phases being completed the last one in 1979 and that endowed to the Group of almost thousand square meters of localities.
|
|
During these first years the group of dances limited itself to the study and representation of dances from Biscay. The performances most emphasized in that epoch were between others the first Dantzari Eguna celebrated in Zarautz in 1970 and to which it would be assisted uninterrupted until 1980 and Baztandarren Biltzarra, in Elizondo. Of pleasant memory for the components of the Grouping they are the performances realized between 1968 and 1971 in the holidays of Rentería, concretely the day of Santiago. |
Al
to be still the difficult years of the previous state, these boastings they
were carried out with the plaza packed of public and cordoned off by the
Forces of law and order and they were directed by a speaker that with its
words exalted to public and dantzaris, bothering to the authorities, for which
every year to put an end to its bones in the jail.
Another
notable data happens in 1971, that year they develop in San Sebastián some
International Days of Folklore. With
this motive and to elect the representative of Bizkaia, is invited to all the
groups from the province to Iurreta that exercised unofficially as
headquarters of the groups of dances of Bizkaia.
To the call only they attended the group of Iurreta and the Ibarra-Kaldu.
In spite of carrying out an exceptional representation of the Dantzari-Dantza,
according to the own inhabitants of Iurreta, the group decides that by being
the Duranguesado and concretely Iurreta the cradle of the Dantzari-Dantza, be
the local group who dams you us in the International Days.
This gesture and the action are not forgot for the coach of the group
of Iurreta, that al following year and being called again to represent to our
Herrialde, requires that the Group Ibarra-Kaldu accompany them since, textual
words, "we dance of cradle but they will give spectacle al our side".
|
From the first moment insured new generations of dantzaris tried to be had, with the creation and maintenance of groups of txikis. Between his most important performances it is necessary to emphasize the presence for several years in the holidays that were celebrated for them in Gasteiz, Durango and Andoain. |
|
As
it has said previously, the repertoire of the Group of Dances is reduced in
principle to dances of Bizkaia, collected in its sources of origin and
developed in the collective work of the group.
This repertoire was being expanded little by little and thus they are
presented for the first time in 1975 dances of Gipuzkoa, in 1976 of Nafarroa,
in 1978 of Tilled and in 1992 of Iparralde
Another important activity of the Grouping has been the musical one. In a beginning it was limited to the accompaniment with the txistu of the dances on the part of txistularis already experienced or that they were learning in other Academies. Towards ends of 1971, the first Academy of Txistu is started.
|
|
The purpose of this Academy was and is the teaching of the basic principles of the txistu. Its actions have been reduced normally al accompaniment of the Group of Dances in lively marchs and exhibitions, to the creation of the Band of Txistularis. This it acted for the first time November 23, 1985 in the Asylum Foundation Miranda. |
|
In the musical aspect, apart from Txistu, it is necessary to stand out also, the functioning of a fanfarria, that in contrast to the normal ones, it is not based on wind - metals instruments, but on accordions, txirulas, percussion and sometimes violin, flute and clarinet. It was created in order to accompany to the Group of Dances in certain dances and for make pleasant the necessary intervals in the exhibitions for the change of wardrobe of the dantzaris |

With the eagerness to conserve all the possible facets of our culture, a group of indigenous instruments was created also. This group is formed by a triki-trixa, alboka, bagpipes Navarre with the ones that certain dances are accompanied from Alava and from Navarra, wooden flute vizcaina and the first couple of txalapartaris of Barakaldo.

During
the first years was being multiplied so much the number of associates as that
of actions. This tonic continued uninterruptedly to the year 1978.
In this date the Group suffers a serious crisis.
The first and worse consequence they are that that year the Group
remains, practically in picture, with a pile of Childs from 12 to 16 years and
a handful of adults that charge on its backs the hard and difficult task to
maintain and to direct the Group until the group of smaller have the age and
necessary maturity to take its reins
|
|
This fact takes place between the year 1984 and 1986 and supposes the resurgence of the Ibarra-Kaldu. The repertoire of dances is extended. There are created reviewed Group of Indigenous Instruments, Band of Txistularis and the Fanfarria. They increase the performances, emphasizing between others the realized ones in San Sebastian de los Reyes (Madrid), in December 1986 and in La Felguera (Asturias) in June 1987. |
Another long-term consequence of the crisis previously cited, is the lack of generation changeover. During those years few children are incorporated very, that normally abandon to the 12 or 13 years. This motivated that not to exist a new generation that took the changeover, above all in the Group of Dances, to the existing one. How consequence the Group suffered a small crisis that was solved in 1989 with the incorporation of a new board of directors, whose first worry was the to promote the "quarry" with various groups of txikis trying to obtain them actions that motivated to continue dancing.
|
This bet ended in that entering in the nineties, and before the delicate situation of the groups of major, the txikis were raising the above mentioned group of bigger than an unusual and early age, some below 12 years, but re-throwing again the group of major in particular, and to the whole Grouping in general, and beginning a new stage, where there was extended moreover the repertoire of the group of dances and the number of members in the different sections. |
|
Since
then has gone enlarging the number of actions, emphasizing them carried out in
Valladolid, the ones that are carried out together al remainder of Groups of
Barakaldo by Carnivals or by the local holidays of the town, or the
participation again in the Dantzari-Eguna.
|
|
But especially he emphasizes the starting of an old wish of the Grouping, since it was having a festival of proper folklore, and that took form in 1997, celebrating the first Herrien Arteko Folklore Jaialdia, and that keeps on being celebrated until our days, every time with better health, and that it allows the Grouping, not only to bring groups of other places, even the foreigner, but to be able to come we to the above mentioned places to show the wealth of our folklore and our culture. |
